I'm Cleopatra Degher, the coach at Amplitude Accent and Voice. I listen to my clients' goals and priorities, then we build toward them step by step. The goal isn't to make you sound like someone else. It's to give you more confidence and control when you speak or sing.
I come to this work as a native speaker of both English and Swedish. My background is in linguistics (BA) and speech-language pathology (MA), where I learned to notice the small things that make a big difference in how someone communicates. I've worked as a speech-language pathologist in both schools and medical settings, with children and adults, and I've taught English as a second language in small groups.
I'm also a trained singer who spent years performing, so I have an intimate knowledge of how the voice works, including how to project without straining and how to shape the sounds you produce.
